What experience do I need to become a franchise owner with Bovine Burgers?
An owner-operator mentality, management experience, an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive “can do” attitude go a long way in this business. An appreciation for the value of a satisfied guest also makes a huge difference. While experience with customer service in the hospitality industry is helpful, it’s not specifically required. We do, however, welcome existing restaurant owners who are interested in converting their businesses over to the Bovine Burgers brand. No matter your background or experience, we are ready to serve up a full menu of training, support and resources that can help you grow your craft burger joint franchise.
What is provided as part of the Bovine Burgers franchise program?
Initial training for you, your operating principal and general manager includes approximately 17 working days of classroom and on-the-job experience at our Jamesburg, New Jersey headquarters. Our food service experts will also spend up to seven days at your location upon opening to help you and your team prepare to launch your business. On-site assistance includes support during two Friends and Family events to help your team welcome your first guests while ramping up your operations. Refresher training and field support visits help guide you as you grow your business.
How much will a Bovine Burgers franchise cost me?
The estimated initial investment for a single unit ranges from $396,500 to $1,084,750. This includes a $45,000 initial franchise fee for a single territory agreement. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.
Is financing available?
We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case-by-case basis, including resources the founders utilized themselves.
Are there ongoing fees to pay?
Franchise owners pay a 5.5% royalty fee based on net sales. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services, training programs and more. For a full list of fees and requirements, please refer to our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
Are there any advertising fees?
Franchise owners contribute 1% up to 3% of net sales for the brand marketing fund and the greater 2% or $1,000 for local advertising. We use collected funds to develop marketing strategies, materials and campaigns to promote the Bovine Burgers brand. Franchise owners must spend a minimum of $7,500 on grand opening marketing and promotions for two weeks prior and four weeks after opening their restaurant. What is the term of the agreement?
The initial term of your agreement is ten years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
